Questions
Frequently asked questions
Everything most people ask before ordering. If your question is not here, just phone, text or WhatsApp and ask.
Are your cakes really dairy free?
- Yes. Every cake is dairy free as standard, so there is no need to ask or pay extra. They are made to taste every bit as good as a traditional cake, just without the dairy.
What about other allergens?
- Our cakes are made in a home kitchen that also handles nuts, gluten and eggs, so we cannot guarantee any cake is completely free from traces. Please tell us about any allergies when you order and we will do our best to help.
Which areas do you cover?
- We serve Seaford and the surrounding villages, including Bishopstone, East Blatchington, Newhaven, Denton, Alfriston and nearby. Cakes are collected from Seaford. Ask about local drop-off when you order.
How do I order?
- Just phone, text or WhatsApp on 07701 016659. There is no online booking, we prefer to have a chat about what you would like and when you need it.
How far ahead should I order?
- A few days' notice is ideal. Only six cakes are baked each week, so early ordering is recommended, especially for weekends and holidays.
How do I pay?
- By bank transfer or cash on collection. Payment details are agreed when you place your order.
How big are the cakes?
- Round cakes are a generous 20cm and serve around ten to twelve for afternoon tea, depending how generously you slice. Loaf cakes slice into around ten to twelve pieces.
Can you make seasonal cakes or special orders?
- The regular range is the eight traditional cakes listed. Seasonal specials such as Christmas cakes may be available at certain times of year, so please ask.
